2014
The origin of the vision
While working in a Brisbane warehouse, Alex and Conor identified a major gap in the logistics industry: critical global trade operations still relied on manual processes and fax-based communication. That insight became the foundation for Explorate’s vision.
2016
Building the foundation
Explorate was founded in Brisbane as Alex and Conor began developing the early versions of the software designed to simplify and digitise global supply chain operations. With no office bit big ambitions, the groundwork for a smarter, tech-driven logistics future began.
2018
Launching a digital-first platform
Officially launched the Explorate platform, replacing manual spreadsheets and legacy workflows with a modernised, integrated digital solution for global trade.
2019
Strategic investment and rapid scale
Explorate partnered with Skalata Ventures and Paul Little, former CEO of Toll Group and one of Australia’s most recognised logistics leaders. Within eight months, monthly recurring revenue increased 21x, welcoming partners like Brosa, Tommy Swiss, and the Ports of Melbourne and Brisbane.
2022
Series A growth and industry recognition
Explorate secured $7.5M in Series A funding led by EVP and expanded nationally with new offices in Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. Co-founders named Digital Disruptors at the Brisbane Young Entrepreneur Awards as the team grew past 60.
2023
Accelerated growth
Scaled to over 1,500 clients, a team of 70+, and $200M+ in goods managed. Formalised our C-suite and aligned long-term corporate strategy to support rapid national scaling.
2024
Advancing digital retail supply chains
Awarded the ASCLA Award for Big Data, IT & Business Intelligence alongside The Sussan Group (Sussan, Sportsgirl, Suzanne Grae). Transitioned the Explorate App to our core commercial product, securing major brands and earning recognition in TechCrunch and The Courier Mail.
2025
Turning disruption into opportunity
Partnered with Nick Scali to navigate critical supply chain disruptions through enhanced visibility and data-driven insights. The collaboration secured Explorate’s second consecutive ASCLA Award for Big Data, IT & Business Intelligence.
